Telangana Chemical Factory Blast Kills 12, Rescue Operations Underway 🚨

A massive reactor blast followed by a fire at Sigachi Pharma Company in Telangana’s Sangareddy district has killed 12 people and left dozens injured, according to state Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha.
The incident occurred at the company’s facility in Pasamailaram Phase 1, Medak.
Firefighting and Rescue Efforts🔥
Eleven fire tenders were rushed to the site to control the blaze. Fire officials reported that nearly 15-20 people were injured and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Telangana Fire Department told ANI, “The incident took place at Sigachi Pharma Company, Pasamailaram Phase 1. Eleven fire tenders have reached the site. Nearly 15-20 people have been injured. Further details awaited.”
Casualties Confirmed🚑
Sangareddy Superintendent of Police, Paritosh Pankaj, stated, “Till now, we haven't recovered any bodies. A rescue operation is going on. We will update you in some time.”
However, Telangana Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha later confirmed, “As many as 12 people died and 34 people are under treatment. We are hopeful that there would be no more (deaths),” PTI reported.

A video shared by news agency PTI showed thick smoke billowing from the factory as firefighters battled the flames. Witness accounts suggested the explosion was so powerful that it hurled workers nearly 100 metres away, trapping many in nearby tents.
Structural Damage and Rescue Challenges🏗️
Reports said the blast severely damaged the factory structure, with rescue teams deploying earthmovers to clear debris amid fears that some workers might be trapped underneath.
Several ambulances, including 108 emergency teams, were stationed at the site to transport the injured.
Migrant Workers Affected👷♂️
Migrant workers from Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and other states were employed at the unit. The explosion triggered panic among employees in nearby chemical units and factories, prompting mass evacuation.
Ongoing Rescue Operations🛑
Sangareddy District Collector P. Pravinya and Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj reached the site to supervise rescue and relief operations, which remain ongoing.
