Top Maoist Leader Bhaskar Killed in Chhattisgarh Encounter 🇮🇳🔫

In a major blow to Maoist insurgency, top CPI (Maoist) leader Bhaskar, alias Mailarapu Adelu, was killed in an encounter with security forces on Thursday. His body was recovered on Friday from the encounter site.
Operation Details👮♂️
The operation was led by Chhattisgarh’s Special Task Force (STF), District Reserve Guard (DRG), and the CRPF's elite CoBRA unit. The exchange of fire occurred in the dense forest area of Indravati National Park.
Identity & Role🪖
Bhaskar was a prominent leader in the CPI (Maoist)’s Telangana State Committee. He served as Secretary of the Mancherial-Komarambheem Division and was also a Special Zonal Committee member. He carried a bounty of ₹25 lakh in Chhattisgarh and ₹20 lakh in Telangana.

A String of Major Successes🚨
This marks the third significant Maoist neutralization in the past two weeks. Earlier:
- June 3: Senior leader Narasimha Chalam alias Sudhakar (₹40 lakh bounty) was killed.📅
- May 21: CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Nambala Keshav Rao alias Basavaraju was killed in Narayanpur.📅
Bhaskar’s Background📖
Originally from Adilabad district in Telangana, Bhaskar belonged to the Madiga SC community. He had dropped out of intermediate studies and was previously a farmer. His wife, Kanthi Lingavva alias Anitha, was also a Maoist leader and was killed in 2022.
He was known for his fluency in Telugu, Hindi, Gondi, and GothiKoya languages, and often carried an AK-47.
