An Air India flight operating from San Francisco to Mumbai via Kolkata faced a technical issue early Tuesday, forcing passengers to disembark during a scheduled stop at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. As per PTI reports, the aircraft developed a problem in its left engine, delaying its departure for Mumbai.
Scheduled Departure and Unexpected Delay✈️
Flight AI180 departed from San Francisco Airport on schedule but encountered a technical snag after landing in Kolkata at 12:45 am. After a wait of over four hours, an announcement was made at 5:20 am asking all passengers to deplane. The captain informed passengers that this decision was made in the interest of their safety.

Incident Follows Recent Crash⚠️
This incident occurred just five days after a tragic crash involving Air India flight AI-171. The plane, en route to London’s Gatwick Airport from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel building seconds after take-off. Tragically, 241 people lost their lives, including 230 passengers, 10 cabin crew members, and two pilots. Only one passenger, British national Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, survived the crash.
