Won't tolerate nuclear blackmail, terror, talks can't go together:PM

Modi declares India has only paused action against Pak contingent on 'their behaviour', says not era of war, but not of terrorism either.

NEW DELHI: Terror and talks cannot go together, terror and trade cannot go together, and blood and water cannot flow together, Prime Minister Nar-endra Modi said on Monday as he underlined a paradigm shift in India's relationship with Pakistan and added that New Delhi won't tolerate nuclear blackmail.

In his first public remarks since India struck nine terrог bases in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on May 7, Modi said Operation Sindoor was now India's policy against terror and added that the early morning strikes on "universi-ties of terror" sponsored by Islamabad marked a new nor-mal.

Modi also said that the even-tual cessation of hostilities: announced on Saturday even-was decimated militarily and came pleading for a ceasefire. But he categorically stated that Operation Sindoor was not yet over.

"We have only paused our retaliatory action against terror and military bases in Pakistan. In the coming days, every step taken by Pakistan will be moni tored... any terror attack will get a befitting response, on our terms, in our way." Modi said in an address to the nation.

THREE TENETS OF THE NEW NORMAL

1 If there is a terrorist attack on India, a fitting reply will be given... We will take strict action wherever the roots of terrorism emerge.

2 India will not tolerate any 2 nuclear blackmail. India will strike at the terrorist hideouts developing under the cover of nuclear blackmail.

3 We will not differenti-3 ate between the government sponsor-ing terrorism and the masterminds of terrorism.

 A CLEAR STAND:If Pakistan wants to survive, It will have to destroy its terror infrastructure... India's stand is very clear... Terror and talks cannot go together... Terror and trade cannot go together... Water and blood cannot flow together.

CORE ISSUE FOR TALKS:If there are talks with Pakistan, It will be only on terrorism; and if there are talks with Pakistan, it will be only on Pakistan-occupled Kashmir (PoK).

ON TERROR BASES:When India's missiles and drones attacked terrorist bases In Pakistan, not only the buildings of terrorist organizations but their courage also was shaken badly. Terrorist bases, like Bahawalpur and Muridke are universities of global terrorism.
