Former Tennis Player Radhika Yadav Shot Dead by Her Father in Gurugram 🏠🎾

Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old former state-level tennis player, was allegedly shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their home in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok area around 2 pm on Thursday. The accused, 49-year-old Deepak Yadav, was arrested after he confessed to killing his daughter.

Where Did the Incident Happen?🏡

Radhika lived with her parents and brother in Sector 57, Sushant Lok-II. According to police, she was cooking in the kitchen on the first floor when her father fired at least five shots, three of which struck her in the back, killing her on the spot. Police recovered a .32 bore licensed revolver used in the crime.

Why Did Her Father Kill Her?🔫 

Deepak Yadav, originally from Wazirabad village, told police he killed Radhika because he felt humiliated by relatives and others who mocked him for depending on his daughter’s income. Radhika ran a tennis academy, which had been a point of conflict between them.

Police spokesperson Sandeep Singh stated that her father was unhappy with her running the academy and wanted her to shut it down, but she refused.

Depression and Social Criticism😔

Assistant Commissioner of Police Yashwant Yadav said Deepak had been battling depression for the past 15 days due to social criticism about his daughter’s career and earnings, which he claimed hurt his pride. The FIR mentions his confession that he could no longer bear the humiliation.

Other Angles Under Investigation🔍

Police are also investigating other possible angles in the case, including his objection to a possible affair or a social media reel she posted. Radhika was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

FIR and Arrest📝

An FIR was registered at Sector 56 Police Station based on a complaint by Radhika’s uncle, and Deepak Yadav was taken into custody.
