Raj Thackeray Takes Swipe at CM Devendra Fadnavisš¤
In his address, Raj Thackeray took an ironic swipe at Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying, “I am sharing the stage with Uddhav Thackeray after almost 20 years. Chief Minister Fadnavis managed to do what Balasaheb Thackeray could not – bring Uddhav and me together.”
He further added, “The Maharashtra government rolled back the three-language formula due to the strong unity shown by Marathi people. This decision was a precursor to plans of separating Mumbai from Maharashtra.”
Raj Thackeray Questions Centre Over Hindutva Standards❓
Raj further criticised the Centre, questioning whether BJP stalwart LK Advani’s education in a missionary school affected his Hindutva credentials. “LK Advani studied at St. Patrick’s High School, a missionary institution. Should we doubt his Hindutva?” he asked.
He added that even Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray studied in an English-medium school and worked for an English newspaper but “never compromised on the status of Marathi”.
Investor’s Office Vandalised Amid Language Row⚠️
Earlier in the day, investor Sushil Kedia’s office in Mumbai’s Worli area was vandalised by unidentified men who shouted slogans in support of Raj Thackeray and Marathi pride. According to police, the attackers hurled stones at the office premises.
Kedia had recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) challenging Raj Thackeray’s stand on promoting Marathi, declaring that despite living in Mumbai for 30 years, he would not learn the language.
He wrote, “I don’t know Marathi properly even after living for 30 years in Mumbai. With your gross misconduct, I have made it my resolve that until such people as you pretend to care for Marathi Manus, I won’t learn Marathi. Kya karna hai bol?”
Police said adequate security has been provided to Kedia’s office following the incident.
