Astronomer CEO Resigns After Kiss Cam Moment at Coldplay Concert🎤

Astronomer CEO Resigns Following Viral Concert Controversy🚨

Astronomer’s Chief Executive Officer, Andy Byron, has resigned after a video of him sharing an intimate moment with a female colleague at a Coldplay concert went viral, drawing widespread criticism.

Official Company Statement📢

The company confirmed his departure in a LinkedIn statement, noting that their standards of conduct had not been upheld.

“As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.”

Impact on Customers🔧

Astronomer reassured customers that while public awareness of the company has changed overnight, their products and services remain unaffected.

“Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI. While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not. We’re continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data and AI problems.”

The Coldplay Concert Incident🎤

The controversy erupted when Byron and Cabot were spotted on Coldplay’s Kiss Cam at a Boston concert. The video showed the pair quickly separating as the camera focused on them, with Byron ducking away and Cabot attempting to hide her face. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin commented on stage, suggesting they were either “too shy” or “having an affair,” later adding, “Oh s**t, I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

Social media users also noted a woman sitting beside them who appeared amused by the situation. Initial speculation identified her as Alyssa Stoddard, Astronomer’s senior director of people, but the company clarified that Stoddard was not at the concert and no other employees were present in the video.

Personal Fallout💔

Both Byron and Cabot are married to other partners, further fuelling public backlash. Following the incident, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan, who works as Associate Director of Lower School and Hope Graham Program Admissions at Bancroft School, dropped her surname from her Facebook profile before later deactivating it.

Leadership History👔

Byron had joined Astronomer as CEO in 2023 and hired Cabot in November 2024, previously describing her recruitment as a “transformative” period for the company in a now-deleted LinkedIn post.
