PM Modi in Siwan: Congress and RJD to blame for Bihar’s problems🚄

PM Modi Visits Siwan: Targets Opposition, Unveils ₹9,500 Crore Projects

Major Address in Poll-Bound Bihar📍

In the run-up to the crucial Bihar Assembly elections this October-November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Siwan on Friday, June 20, 2025. He accused the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of dragging Bihar backward while showcasing a decade of progress under the NDA government.

Big Announcements & Inaugurations🚄

Addressing a massive gathering in Jasoli, Siwan district, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple projects worth ₹9,500 crore. He also flagged off a new Vande Bharat Express connecting Patliputra station in Patna to Gorakhpur, boosting connectivity in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Sharp Attack on Opposition🗣️

“RJD and Congress are anti-Bihar, anti-investment. They protected mafia raj, goonda raj, and corruption in the State for years,” PM Modi declared, to loud cheers from supporters.

Fourth Visit in 2025🔄

This was PM Modi’s fourth visit to Bihar in 2025. Earlier visits were on January 24, April 24, and May 29–30, where he held a roadshow in Patna and a rally at Bikramganj in Rohtas.

Welfare Highlights🏠

PM Modi emphasized his government’s welfare work: “Over four crore people have received pucca (concrete) houses in the last decade. Another three crore will get theirs soon. Modi will not rest until every poor, Dalit, Mahadalit, EBC and OBC family is secure.” He noted that most houses are registered in women’s names, empowering them economically.

Basic Amenities for All💡

“Free ration, electricity, and water are provided by our government. But those with the hand and lantern symbols looted the country then and still want to do so,” he said, targeting Congress and RJD.

India’s Global Rise🌍

PM Modi underlined India’s rising global status: “World leaders are amazed at India’s rapid progress. India will soon become the world’s third most powerful nation, with Bihar playing a key role.” He claimed that 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty nationwide, with 3.75 crore from Bihar alone.

Social Justice & Local Sentiments📜

He also attacked the RJD over social justice: “They insult Baba Saheb Ambedkar, but I hold him in my heart,” he said, referencing RJD chief Lalu Prasad. He invoked Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President and a native of Ziradei in Siwan, to appeal to local pride.

Strategic Significance🗳️

Siwan, an RJD bastion with a significant Muslim, Yadav, and Dalit population, is politically crucial. BJP workers mobilized crowds from neighboring Saran and Gopalganj districts for the rally.

Opposition Fights Back💬

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh countered the PM’s pitch, saying, “The PM is in Bihar today. Based on the caste survey by the INDIA bloc, Bihar proposed 65% reservation for SCs, STs, OBCs, and EBCs — but the double-engine government failed to protect it in court.”

He outlined Congress’s three demands for the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament starting July 21, 2025:

  • Include Bihar’s reservation law in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.
  • Amend the Constitution to lift the 50% cap on reservations.
  • Fully implement Article 15(5) for reservations in private educational institutions.

Tejashwi Yadav’s Criticism🗨️

A day before the rally, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused PM Modi of ignoring real issues like unemployment and migration, saying he visits Bihar only to “deceive” people and target political opponents.

NDA Leaders Join In🤝

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary also addressed the Siwan rally. CM Kumar dismissed the Opposition’s “propaganda” and thanked the PM for pushing Bihar’s development agenda forward.
