Canadian PM Mark Carney Addresses Nijjar Case🗣️

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed to journalists that he discussed the sensitive Nijjar case with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta.

Speaking to reporters, Carney said: “We discussed the importance of not just dialogue, but direct cooperation between our law enforcement agencies. We also talked about addressing transnational repression.”

He added: “There is an ongoing judicial process, so I must be cautious about further comments.”

Modi Hails a ‘Productive’ Visit✅

On June 18, Prime Minister Modi shared an update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), describing his Canada trip as “productive”.

“Concluding a productive Canada visit. Thankful to the Canadian people and government for hosting a successful G7 Summit, which witnessed fruitful discussions on diverse global issues. We remain committed to furthering global peace, prosperity, and sustainability,” Modi posted.

PM Modi arrived at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge on June 17 to attend the G7 Summit, where he was warmly received by PM Carney.

In a series of high-level meetings held on the sidelines, Modi highlighted India’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships and championing the interests of the Global South, according to an ANI report.

He met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

After discussions with leaders from Brazil and South Africa, Modi reiterated India’s solidarity with the Global South and emphasized the shared responsibility to tackle critical global challenges and build a better future for generations to come. 🌏✨
