Honeymoon Turns Tragic: Indore Businessman Murdered in Meghalaya💔
Chilling Plot Before the Wedding🔍
The murder of 29-year-old Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi may have been plotted before his May 11 wedding to Sonam Raghuvanshi, now accused of orchestrating his killing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. She is alleged to have conspired with her lover Raj Kushwaha and three hired killers.
Arrests Across States👮
Kushwaha (21) and Vishal Singh Chauhan were arrested in Indore, while two others — Akash Rajput from Uttar Pradesh and Anand Kurmi from Madhya Pradesh — were arrested elsewhere. Sonam, missing since May 23, was found at a dhaba in Ghazipur, UP, and arrested early Monday.
Coordinated Killing With Mobile Clues📱
According to police, Kushwaha coordinated the murder via phone, sending ₹50,000 and a mobile to the killers, who traveled to Meghalaya on May 17. Sonam had planned the trip, taking ₹9 lakh and jewelry from Raja before leaving Indore.
Timeline of Disappearance🗓️
The couple arrived in Shillong on May 21. By May 23, they vanished after checking out of a homestay in Nongriat. Their hired scooter was later found abandoned. A missing persons complaint was filed on May 25.
Discovery of the Body🧍♂️
Raja’s body was recovered from a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2, missing personal items like a ring and chain. A machete, raincoat, and blood traces nearby led investigators to suspect foul play by outsiders.
CCTV and Eyewitness Evidence🎥
CCTV footage and a local guide confirmed the couple was accompanied by three Hindi-speaking men on May 23. Police tracked suspects through this evidence and call records, eventually identifying and arresting all accused.
Love Triangle and Betrayal💔
Sonam met Kushwaha two years ago at her brother’s plywood factory. Despite her engagement to Raja, she maintained contact with Kushwaha. He masterminded the operation remotely.
Arrest at the Dhaba🍛
Sonam resurfaced at a dhaba on the Varanasi-Gorakhpur Highway at 1 AM, exhausted and emotional. After calling her brother from the dhaba owner’s phone, police were informed and arrested her soon after.
Justice in Motion⚖️
With all suspects now in custody, the police continue to investigate this shocking murder that stemmed from betrayal, greed, and manipulation.
